The first stage in establishing grid power from renewable energy in the Israeli Market is due to easing the regulations for Small Photovoltaic systems.

Regulations allocated 50 megawatt the following way: only 30% to private houses and the rest of the 700-system to Commercial. The systems can be installed on roof-tops of houses, parking lots, barns and other large warehouses.
According to the regulations the rate set for 20 years with the Israeli Grid-Power Company at 1.61NIS per kilowaat,  the tariff is index-linked and updates at the beginning of the Calendar year.

Therefore the Maximum size of a Small system is 50 kilowatt. The Israeli climate conditions each Solar System installed (7.5 Square Meter net) will produce one kilowatt during an hour and total about 1,650 Kilowatt Per Annum. Therefore a Commercial System to that extent can produce 82,500 nis Per annum that equals to165,825NIS.

These types of System consist of 250 panels on a roof-top the size of 500 square meters. The roof should be free from shad and the structure requires a 3 Phase grid connections with a minimum of 80x3 ampere.
